What to Expect
EMDR therapy is a highly effective treatment for processing traumatic experiences. A typical session lasts from 60-90 minutes, and it may take one or several sessions to process a single traumatic experience. The goal of EMDR therapy is to completely process the traumatic experiences that are causing problems and to include new ones needed to restore health and build resilience. Although EMDR therapy may produce results more rapidly than other forms of therapy, speed is not the goal of therapy, and it is essential to remember that every client has different needs.

Complete treatment of a single EMDR target involves a three-pronged protocol to alleviate the symptoms and address the complete clinical picture. The three prongs include past memories, present disturbance or symptoms, and future actions. There are eight phases to EMDR therapy: initial history and treatment planning, preparation, assessment, desensitization, installation, body scan, closure, and reevaluation.

Our Fees
In-person & Virtual
Initial Consult
$350
During an initial consultation, your provider will gather information about your history & current symptoms to determine if EMDR is an appropriate treatment option and develop a plan to meet your goals. The therapist will also explain the EMDR process, review methods of bilateral stimulation, and begin developing resources and enhancing coping skills.
EMDR 60 Minute Session
$300
During a 60 minute EMDR session, your provider will guide you through eye movements or other bilateral stimulation to reprocess traumatic memories and reduce emotional distress. Coping skills and relaxation techniques may also be taught. Future templates may also be used to cope with upcoming stressors or enhance positive beliefs about yourself.
EMDR 90-120 Minute Session
$450-$600
Prolonged EMDR therapy sessions can provide a deeper level of healing and processing for individuals who have experienced complex trauma or have been struggling with long-term mental health issues. By allowing more time to explore and process traumatic memories, individuals may experience greater symptom reduction and a more profound sense of emotional and psychological healing.

It is a shortened therapy that can be finished in a few days or weeks, or even just 1,2, or 3 days, depending on your objectives. This type of intensive can provide relief from symptoms and fresh perspectives for individuals who find it difficult to attend weekly therapy sessions. Due to the time commitment, there are only a limited of intensives available, which can be scheduled on weekends for an extra fee.
Do we accept insurance?
At our practice, we believe that mental health care should be personalized and accessible. That's why our psychologists function as concierge doctors, limiting the number of individuals they work with and making themselves available to you. We have chosen not to accept insurance so that we can better meet our clients' needs and not be restricted in treatment planning or session length. We can provide a superbill for those who would like to submit to insurance. Please note that insurance may cover some of the costs associated with your EMDR therapy sessions.
FAQs
What if I already have a therapist?
Great news! EMDR therapy can be a valuable addition to your current therapy plan. You don't have to switch all of your care to EMDR in order to address specific issues. It can be used in conjunction with other therapies to provide a more comprehensive approach to your mental health.
What should I expect after a session?
After an EMDR session, people may feel a range of emotions. Some may feel a sense of relief or release, while others may feel tired or emotionally drained. It's important to take care of yourself after a session and allow yourself time to process any emotions that may come up.

How long will it take for me to feel better?
Reprocessing for a single trauma can typically be completed within three sessions, although individual experiences may vary. Many individuals report feeling improvement within the first three sessions.
